History of Shemagh Manufacturing:

The Shemagh industry was originated a long time ago in the Arab history. It is a developed form of the Arabic turban known since the days of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). The inception of Shemagh manufacturing coincides with the opening of the Arab trade to external international markets, and the exchange transactions used to occur across the small seaports on the Gulf. The Shemagh is instinctively connected with man's relation with nature (same as the turban which was mainly worn for protecting the Arabic man from the oppressive heat of the sun and the severe cold of winter. Hence, the Turban had been replaced by the Shemagh in an era where no means of comfort had been there to relief these hared conditions, and the Shemagh has become a heritage handed over from one generation to the other.

تاريخ الشماغ :

يرقى الشماغ في تاريخه إلى سنين بعيدة فهو امتداد للعمامة العربية التي عرفت من زمن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ويمكن تحديد عمر الشماغ تقريبا مع انفتاح التجارة العربية على الأسواق الخارجية والتبادل الذي كان يتم عبر الموانئ الصغيرة على الخليج وللشماغ علاقة متممة لعلاقة العمامة مع الطبيعة وإنسان الجزيرة العربية فهو يقيه قيظ الشمس وكذلك قر البرد . ومن هنا اصبح الشماغ البديل للعمامة في زمن لم تكن فيه وسائل الراحة التي نعرفها اليوم متوفرة وأضحى تراثا توارثته الأجيال جيلا بعد جيل.
